I’ve Finally Joined The Gym

Okay, so you all have probably even forgotten who I am from my lack of posting.

I was supposed to update you guys every week on my weight-loss journey, which evidently didn’t happen, for numerous reasons.

But I am back, and I promise that you will all get updates every few days of my diet and workout routines. Having finally joined the gym I can now really work my body hard, and show you all that it is possible to lose a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time.

So yesterday I went for my first gym session at my new gym, and literally died. I hadn’t realised how much my body had gotten unfit and couldn’t do simple exercises easily. However I pushed through and worked my body as hard as I possibly could.


Here is my work out routine:

Cross Trainer

5 minutes warm up, level 6

5 minutes intervals, 30 on/30 off (30 secs going as fast as you can the 30 secs going slowly) level 15

5 minutes fat burner, level 20, nice and steady pace.


5 minute walk, speed 5 incline 15

1 minute on 30 secs off x5 speed 10, walk on speed 6, incline 2

5 minute walk, speed 5 incline 15


4kg medicine ball sit ups (arms straight throughout) x15

4kg medicine ball Russian twists x10 per side

Crunches x15

Repeat 3 times

Cable crunches 20×3


As you can see, I didn’t really do much, because of the simple reason that my body just could not take it, but anything is better than nothing.

In terms of my diet, today I started off with a nice healthy breakfast.

Scrambled egg, mushroom and tomatoes on top brown seeded (unbuttered) toast.

For lunch, I prepared jacket sweet potato with tuna mayo, but substituted the mayo for Greek yogurt. (It tastes just as good)

As for snacks, I’ve eaten a couple of chocolate layer rice cakes, just to have something set in my mouth.


I haven’t yet decided what to have for dinner so I will blog about that this evening, alongside a post about my complimentary Personal Training session which I have booked it for tonight!

    Good for you, joining a gym was one of the hardest things I did, but I dont regret it one bit! I especially love the free classes, even though they are kind of intimidating, they are so worth it!
    Keep up the hard work, I’m excited to see your journey!
