I make reference to this all the time, but as someone who has dry skin I like to focus on products which are more suited to my skin time. For this reason glycolic acid and vitamin C form a major part of my skin care regime – and this is why.
- Makes skin brighter and smoother
- Removes dead skin cells leaving behind a smoother surface
- Removing dead skin keeps pores clear
- Brightens skin and evens out skin tone
- Improves skin hydration and moisture
- Protects skin from sun damage and speeds healing from sunburn and sun damage – antioxidants strengthens skin
- Reduces skin discoloration
I wouldn’t call my routine a routine per se because there are some days (more often than I want to admit) that I legit go to bed with makeup on. But when I do take the time these are my go to products to sort my skin out before bed.
I always opt for micellar water over wipes and this is my favourite one at the moment. My skin feels softer and more hydrated before bed after using it.
On the days I wear makeup I usually do a light coverage so I can get away with using this product and not having to was my face. However for the heavier makeup days I use this after I wipe my face my the micellar water. This product is part of the Murad Environmental Shield Essential C range which probably deserves a post dedicated to it. But this product range saved my skin from sun damage and currently keeps my skin from looking super dry and keeps it looking bright and refreshed.
I then use these glycolic acid pads (2-3 times a week). To be honest I can’t really tell if it works as I am using them in conjunction with other products. The night pads are stronger than the days pads – also containing salicylic acid and lactic acid.
Every now and again I use the Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel. Don’t be put off by the word peel! There is a low concentration of glycolic acid in the product, not so harsh and does not peel skin or leave you with redness in the morning.
After using this my face feels super smooth in the morning, so I would definitely recommend getting this and trying it out.
Secret Tip: I use the last two products on my lady bits. Keeps it smooth and also prevents ingrown hairs (obviously keep it away from the lips) – thank me later!
As always, share your thoughts on glycolic acid and vitamin C – let me know what products you would recommend.
